Access Information Management Selected as a 2011 Hawaii Business SmallBiz Success Awards Finalist

Records Management Company Recognized for Community Service

HONOLULU, Hawaii – January 28, 2011 - Access Information Management, the largest AAA NAID (National Association for Information Destruction)-certified provider of secure destruction and records management services in Hawaii, is proud to announce its selection as a finalist in the Hawaii Business 2011 SmallBiz Success Awards in the Community Service category.

Access Information Management was selected as a finalist based on the company’s commitment to giving back to the community. Last year, the company hosted 17 community shred events, providing an estimated 2,500 people with free shredding services. Approximately 113,300 lbs of documents were destroyed through these community shred events. In keeping with Access’ green business practices, 100 percent of the resulting paper waste material was recycled, creating enough pulp to save over 963 trees and 168 cubic yards of landfill space.

Additionally, the company’s employees are active in the community as volunteers ranging from youth sports coaches to visitors at local nursing homes. The company has also long been a proud supporter of local and national non-profit organizations, donating more than $38,000 to non-profit and community groups in 2010.

“Being selected as a finalist for this award is an honor and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our employees, who personify Access’ dedication to community service both at work and in their personal lives,” said Rob Alston, president of Access Information Management. “We take seriously our role in educating the public about the importance of protecting personal information and are glad that so many residents can take advantage of the free shred events held throughout the year.”

Hawaii Business magazine annually honors Hawaii-based small businesses for rapid sales growth, longevity in business, overcoming unusual challenges, having a unique product and creating a place where people want to work. A panel of judges comprised of local business leaders and Hawaii Business magazine senior writers selected the finalists for the award. The overall winners will be announced in the February issue of Hawaii Business magazine.
