Access and the Wisconsin Office of Privacy Protection Partner for a Community Shred Day

Pleasanton, CA – November 24, 2009 - Access Information Management, provider of records management, storage and destruction services for hardcopy, magnetic media and electronic records, teamed with the Wisconsin Office of Privacy Protection to host a community shred day. In support of identity theft prevention and education, a free day of personal information shredding services was offered to the people of Madison.

Encouraged to properly destroy personal information, individuals traveled from neighboring communities to Madison, bringing their boxes and bags of personal documents for secure destruction. At the October 24th event, participants’ personal documents were deposited into secure shred bins and loaded onto the Access mobile shred truck where they were destroyed onsite free of charge.

“We are proud to partner with organizations across the nation each year to help raise awareness about identity theft protection, “said David Gesinger, Executive Vice President of Operations, Access Information Management. “By demonstrating how personal information can be easily and properly destroyed, our shred day events help encourage people to protect themselves, keeping their private information out of the wrong hands.”

Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in America. Access works with organizations and private individuals across the US, providing secure destruction options for paper, computer hard drives and products.
